Nine Favorite Things: Happiest November! It’s cookbook launch month! I feel so much excitement and have so many nerves. It’s crazy that after over two years of work on the Quick & Cozy cookbook, it is finally time to share it with you all!
Coming up this month, I’ll start sharing a handful of recipes from the book on Instagram. I filmed a few with my good friend Benny while in Los Angeles a few weeks ago. Before I head out on the book tour, I’ll also share a couple of recipes filmed from home. I thought it would be fun to give you all a sneak peek inside the book. So make sure you’re following me on Instagram! It will be fun!
Aside from all of the book excitement, which has pretty much become my life at this point, it’s been a great week! I spent the first part of this week in New York, and I can’t tell you how much I love the city during these late fall days. The colors are so rich, and I was lucky to have almost perfect weather most days I was in town.
I was in New York for the CFDA awards. Just like last year, I was there with Amazon. It was such an honor to be invited back, and this year was even better! I felt a little more comfortable, knew a few more of the people attending, and all in all, it was a beautiful night. Plus, I got to play dress up for a night and loved every minute! It’s been amazing working with the Amazon team, we have some big things coming up!
This was a pretty quick in-and-out trip, but I squeezed in a day of filming, a few meetings, and then spent hours in my hotel room working onย The 2024 Thanksgiving Menu and Guide, which is now live!ย I’m so happy and excited to share this menu. I think it’s one of my favorites. I’m also sharing more details on my tablescape below! Let me know what would be helpful to share ahead of Thanksgiving this year. We have just over three weeks to prepare! What are your plans this Thanksgiving?
Between the cookbook and the holidays, we have so many things to be excited about. But a lot of it can feel overwhelming, too. The thing I’ve been doing a lot of lately, is remembering back to the girl who wanted all of this. We may not be at that picture-perfect idealistic vision I first had, but every day, we inch closer.
When things start to feel like a lot, I just think to myself, “How cool is it that I get to do this? I’m traveling to New York for events as big as the CFDAs, working with Amazon and other super creative people. I’m creating and sharing content I love, and most importantly – I am so fortunate to have built out the most wonderful community of people who choose to spend time with me every day. Whether you watch on social, read the website, or are coming to the book tour. I’m the luckiest! I try to think those thoughts, and it always helps because, really, I am so fortunate! I’m so excited for these next two months!
Thatโs all I have for today! Enjoy another Sunday Favorites, and Happy November!ย

On Friday, we shared the 2024 Thanksgiving Menu and Guide. I realized I never took the time to share details about my actual tablescape setup, so I’m doing so here today! I’ve also added this info to the menu post. I just loved this tableโit’s my favorite table I’ve styled yet!
As with most years, I kept the table down to the basics using pieces I have at home: ribbons, simple white dishes, silverware, linen napkins, and then mixed in fresh florals lined down the table in place of a runner or tablecloth.
For the florals, I used smaller bud vases throughout. I used one larger arrangement that I removed for dinner and set on a side table. The turkey then replaced the larger arrangement. This allows guests to easily talk while enjoying the meal!
I used glassware I already own and muted yellow linen napkins tied simply with a ribbon and single-stem flower. They turned out so pretty!
The final detail was a pretty holiday ornament hung on each chair. I thought it would get everyone in the holiday spirit and ready to celebrate Christmas. Plus, it was so cute!

This is so fun! Camille, who I’ve known for the longest time, asked me to join her on the cover of her new online magazine, Camille Styles EDIT. We shot the cutest holiday dinner in Austin using recipes from the Half Baked Harvest Cookbook.
It was one of the best days, and our dinner was so special. You can browse Camille’s new magazine here (her first issue is free). She has so many great articles, designs, and holiday tips. You can also read Camille’s piece on me and the new cookbook here (page 60). Tuesday is a big day for Americans. With such a large following and huge influencer status, it would be great if you could remind people to get out and vote.
Looks like Tieghan โmissedโ this comment as she explained in another response! I hope she encourages all of her community to get out and vote too.
Tieghan, what are your voting plans this year? Early? Mail in ballot? Voting on Tuesday? Iโm sure you can appreciate how important of an election this is, especially for women!
Still crickets over here I see! ๐
Tieghan, maybe you can include some voting links on your insta stories this week? Idk if you can monetize voting links like the links in NFT, but I think a lot of your community would really respect you for sharing that type of content!
Hi Tieghan
You fly to New York, have online meetings in your hotel room and at the same time make a selfie of you during the meeting and post it with the face of at least one other participant visible to all your followers? This seems not to be very business-eskโฆ
Hey Janice, Thanks for the feedback. I didnโt think the photo really showed anything anyone would be uncomfortable with, but I have removed the photo. Thank you and have the most wonderful November Sunday! xx
You posted a video of โyouโ signing the cards for books. It was obviously not your hand and the signature was different than the ones you have shown pictured. Do you have Asher sign cards?
Hey Lynne! Wow! You have really good eyes! Asher helped me stage that video so I could film, haha! But no, I sign ALL the books. It is super important to me and I genuinely enjoy doing it! I think it is so special that you all want signed copies. I feel so loved and so lucky! Let me know if you have other questions. Happy November!! xx
Brilliant answer. ๐๐๐ปโค๏ธ
“Brilliant” answer which makes absolutely no sense. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing a book.
Nobody cares, Jesse Lynne. Sorry you got owned and triggered, but her book will still be a NYT bestseller.
Her brilliant answer made sense to anyone with a brain.
Haha, Jesse Lynne, if you canโt handle the smack down, donโt be a hater.
Brilliant answer Tieghan! ๐
Why wouldnโt you have had Asher film you signing the books instead? Or use a phone stand? Genuine question, I have no clue how the behind the scene stuff works!
Also, Iโm obsessed with the Christmas mugs you posted, especially the Scok ones! May have to snag those for the holidays!
This is so shady.
Weird paranoia. Most people running a business with a large SoMe presence have help. Weird thing for you haters to fixate on, but I guess you are getting desperate. Again.
I am actually not a hater, I am a fan of HBH. I have preordered the book and am excited for it. But when I noticed someone else signing bookplates for the cookbooks I think that is worth asking about. If I saw a video of Martha Stewartโs family signing her cookbooks Iโd be just as concerned. I was not โtriggeredโ or angry it was a legitimate question. Not everyone who asks something is a โhaterโ. What is strange is how some fans come to her defense in a really rude and harsh way if anyone asks a simple question, most of the HBH community is not like this but there is a small percentage of you who are just downright feral and I donโt understand why. Maybe follow the golden rule.
Yes of course most people have help, but most authors do not have someone else sign their signature in their books. If she sells them with a fake signature that is actually fraudulent. It makes no sense that she filmed Asher signing when Asher could have easily just filmed her. Maybe Asher just thought it would be fun to sign a couple. That was not a hater comment and I truly hope she will not use any of the cards Asher signed for any of us fans. Everyone here needs to respond in a respectful way to others, many of these replies from her fans are rudely defensive. Tieghan please require people to be registered to leave comments.
Hey Jen! Thanks!
Asher signed 1 bookplate and it was thrown out! (: have a wonderful week! Happy holidays!
Please. Except you absolutely are not a fan Jesse Lynne, and your question was not legit. Please stop playing the victim now that your disingenuous behavior was called out. Y’all do this every week like clockwork. Tr0ll the site, leave rude attacks disguised as “concern”, get called out (and rightly so), then pretend to be the victim while everyone else who is on to your nonsense is “feral”. ๐
You know what’s feral? Making a lifestyle out of harassing HBH when you could touch grass and get a life instead. The same goes for your alter “Jen” – except she did say one sensible thing – T. definitely needs to start requiring verified registered emails and accounts to post here, and also pre-screen the comments.
What a beautiful post!! I LOVE your table, ESPECIALLY the decorations on the chairs – you have thought of everything here – the colour tones make it cozy and personal and all guests would feel warmly welcomed here. I am teaching my newly retired husband to cook and I think I will direct him to your recipes because I believe that most of them are attainable for a new(ish) home chef. Plus we know that the end result is always good!!!
Hi Brenda,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful message! Thanks for your compliments on the table, I had so much fun putting it together! Let me know if your husband gives any of the recipes a try, I hope he enjoys making them! Have the best Sunday! xT
Christmas ornaments on the chairs at a Thanksgiving table is a curious choice. Assuming your guests all celebrate the same holiday is a hosting faux pas that could leave guests feeling uncomfortable.
Hi Serena,
Thanks for reading today. That’s the great thing about decorations, you can adjust them to your liking:) I’m assuming that most people know the guests they will be hosting on Thanksgiving very well and know whether or not they would be offended by an ornament, I think you would also know the holidays that your guests celebrate. I hope this helps! xx
Yeah, this is weird. It’d be confusing. Why mix the holidays? Focus on one holiday at a time. Unless you directly asked people what holidays they celebrate (kind of tactless), you wouldn’t know. If you hosted more you’d learn more about creating a welcoming environment for people.
I think Serena and Sam bring up good points. These days, it’s hard to know everyone’s personal feelings about which holidays they celebrate or skip. You really can’t assume to know all your guests’ religious preferences, and people do change their views!
Given Teegun’s response, it’s clear the Gerards only entertain certain people and take for granted they all celebrate Christmas. And unfortunately, she assumes all her followers are the same!
I would err on the side of caution and not want to make anyone feel uncomfortable at Thanksgiving by assuming they will celebrate Christmas! Just stick to turkey and mashed potatoes!
Iโm impressed with the amount of grace you manage to muster when besting these obvious haters with no real creativity in their snark. Great way to lay the smack down though! Iโm one of the many that would love to see comment pre-approval, but watching you play โwhack-a-tr0llโ is beautiful too! ๐ค๐ปโค๏ธ
Agree, Kelly. The fact that anyone even put an ounce of thought into a picture of a Christmas ornament is next level insane. The mental gymnastic required to make THAT a problem is…wow. And having to use several pseudonyms to keep coming back to defend the lunacy? Even a devout atheist wouldn’t give a rip about a picture of a Christmas ornament. Deliberately misspelling Tieghan’s last name in the same rude and obnoxious way they do in their hate group – that’s truly the icing on the sh!t cake. But it does make it easy to see who is behind the constant attacks.
Hi T and team HBH! Can you share your process of setting up a non professionally styled thanksgiving table? Your photos are gorgeous but would love to see something a bit more approachable and achievable without the help of a photoshoot staff. How do you plan on styling your own family table this holiday? Thanks!
Hey Tammy! I didnโt have any help styling the table! This was all my doing (: that said this is more style than what I would do for my family since we are such a big group!
For my family I would keep it to just a few bud bases down the table, tea light candles, and then fill in with the food! I would do the platting and linen napkins all the same! Does that make sense? Happy to provide any more detail/and answer more questions! I love to talk table styling!
Happy November! Xx
Oh! Maybe I am mistaken but I swear I saw your photographer tag an entire team for that shoot.
Can you share more about the timeline for these types of trips and events? How do you have time to source and shop all the props, cook several dishes, and do hair and makeup without the help of a team to style the table? That seems like an impossible amount of work in one day!
Nothing wrong by crediting the hard working team who helped bring your vision to life!
I got choked up looking at the tablescape, it reminds me of my grandmas farmhouse and how she decorated for holidays. She would grab things she already have, add ribbons and bows, flowers or produce. I even have a picture of her holding a platter of turkey from her last Thanksgiving with us and she is wearing the same outfit as you, a tan turtleneck tucked into brown trousers. Xoxo
Aww, I love this! Thank you so much for sharing, Charolette. Wow, that’s pretty crazy she was wearing the same outfit, she sounds like a special lady! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! xT
Can I just say that your blog led me to Camille’s blog and that you are both SO inspiring!
I really enjoyed her magazine and your feature was the best!
Your collabs are right on brand . Great job with ALL that you are doing! Now if I could just get to a book signing……!
Aww, thank you so much, Susan! Camille is amazing to follow, so glad you enjoyed reading the feature. Thanks for your support! I hope you can make it to a book signing soon. Happy Sunday! xx
Thank you so much Susan, that means so much! Tieghan has an incredible community and we loved getting to share this story with both our readers. Please keep in touch!! Xo
Thank you for another fun Sunday read! Was it difficult getting your own glassware etc to Austin for your shoot? I always stress when traveling with breakable items! Was that considered Part 2 of your Austin photos or are there still more to come? Happy Sunday!!!
Hey Elizabeth! Yes! I actually ended up ordering new pieces to Austin and then I kept the packaging and shipped them home to Colorado! A little bit of work but worth it! This was so fun to shoot!
No more thanksgiving dinner photos to come but definitely more recipes and hopefully more shoots like this!
Happy November and have a great week!
Happy Sunday, Tieghan! Iโve missed commenting for a few weeks (just busy), but Iโm STILL and ALWAYS reading each Sunday! Have a great week!
Thank you so much, Kerita:) I appreciate you being here and reading each week, it means so much to me! Hope you are off to a great Sunday! xx
Love your NYC fall pictures, it nice to see it year round. ๐
Cannot wait for your new book!
Your Thanksgiving table pictures are fantastic, the table one above with the flowers and candles, you could frame and hang on the wall, itโs so pretty, happy and cosy. ๐ xx
Thanks so much, Kelly-Jane! I think NYC is the fall is so pretty. So glad you enjoyed the photos:) Thanks for your kind message! Have the best Sunday! xxx
Hello Tieghan!First of all, congrats on the new book, it looks amazing and I am so very excited for you (and all of us). Been your fan since you have started this site, I remember all the original photos and made the apple butter when it first made the appearance haha. You have worked hard and deserve all the fun you are having!
Second of all, New York is truly beautiful in the Fall. Glad you are able to experience it. Your dress at CFDA was WOW! What did you have at Torrisi that you loved?
Can’t wait to try your new recipes. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season!
Happy Sunday, Tieghan, Gerard Fam, and HBH Team! Thank you so much for posting the NYC pics. Tieghan, you look absolutely radiant! You are just glowing with the joy of living your dream, and I love it! I love the trajectory you are on and the way HBH is blossoming. I canโt wait to see whatโs in store for 2025! I also love your Thanksgiving guide. Everything looks straight out of a Hallmark movie! Have a wonderful week and thank you again for another great NFT! โค๏ธ
Hi Jen,
Happy Sunday and thanks for reading as always:) Aww, thanks so much, it’s always fun to get super dressed up, especially while in the city. So glad you enjoyed the Thanksgiving menu and guide, I hope you found it helpful! Have the best Sunday and week ahead! xT
Hi Tieghan – Happy Sunday! Just wanted to let you know that I made your Healthy Crockpot Turkey White Bean Chili on Friday. It was delicious for supper and I’ve frozen a bunch of leftover portions for future dinners (I couldn’t find apple butter and didn’t have time to make your recipe, so I just used apple sauce). Yum! And then yesterday (while I still had the crockpot out) I made your Creamy Coconut Chicken Tikka Masala, which I served over cauliflower rice with peas and naan on the side. Such a yummy fall meal in a bowl! Thank you!
Hi Amanda,
Happy Sunday! Thanks of trying the turkey chili, that’s a good one, glad to hear it was enjoyed! Love to hear you also enjoyed the tikka masala, thanks for trying the recipes:) Have the best day! xx
I loved this post-you are back to your old self& loving it! One comment, about the Thanksgiving prep guide: you could not pay me enough to go to any grocery/food store on the day before Thanksgiving! It is insane with frenzied people who need โone last minute thingโ & that pressure turns ordinarily nice people into raging maniacs. Maybe add a line to your suggested shopping list-โthink of ALL ingredients needed & triple check the pantryโ so you need to make that last minute run. Again, thanks for all you do & Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey Dale,
Thanks so much for reading today! Thanks for sharing your tips regarding the last minute grocery shopping! I hope you are having the best fall weekend! xxx
