These easy (and fun!) Pull Apart Cheeseburger Sliders are perfect for relaxed nights of entertaining with family and friends from summer through fall! Soft dinner rolls are stuffed with spicy seasoned hamburgers, my favorite creamy special sauce, and a mix of cheddar and spicy cheddar cheese. Each handheld cheeseburger slider is cheesy on the inside yet golden and toasted outside, with a delicious garlic sesame butter topping. Serve these sliders warm for a truly simple appetizer or meal that everyone will love.

It’s July, the 4th is days away, and everyone is most likely checking out for the long weekend ahead. Aside from planning your summer fun, you’re probably brainstorming your menus for Thursday.
ME TOO! We have so many family members and friends in town this week for my brother’s wedding. And you better believe they expect yummy summertime foods while they’re here. Our 4th will be filled with festivities, and I’m already planning to bring these sliders! They’re a hit every time.

Summers in Cleveland were always filled with family parties and burgers on the grill. Dad would grill out burgers a few times a month—simple cheeseburgers but delicious nonetheless.
Now that the 4th is here, I wanted to share something burger-like that could be fun as an appetizer or a meal: cheeseburger sliders!!
But my cheeseburger sliders are not the usual. I add special flavors to mine that make them even yummier. These have been such a family favorite recently. My brothers especially have been loving them!

Here are the Details
Step 1: make the special sauce
Most special sauces are often made with mayo, hot sauce, and maybe some pickle juice. Pretty basic.
For my sauce, I like to make it spicy, sweet, and salty using sweet Thai chili sauce, ketchup, garlic, and a good splash of tamari too. It’s kind of like my bang bang sauce with the addition of ketchup.
It’s insanely delicious over any burger!

Step 2: make the burger patties
So, essentially, this is like a hamburger helper. Brown the meat: you can use beef, chicken, or turkey, but we typically like beef.
Once the meat is browned, add some gochujang, onion powder, garlic powder, and a few splashes of Worcestershire sauce. Then, season with salt and pepper.
The gochujang makes these sliders so delicious. You don’t know it’s there, but you do taste the slight amount of spice. Together with the salty tamari, it’s so delicious.

Step 3: layer the sliders
I like using the King Hawaiian Rolls for my sliders.
Cut the rolls in half and layer with slices of cheddar cheese. Add the meat and drizzle with special sauce. It’s the best.
Finish with shredded spicy cheddar or pepper jack cheese and pickles. Then, add the top half of the buns!
Step 4: the garlic butter
Next, make the garlic butter topping. Softened butter mixed with garlic, herbs, and Parmesan. Spread the butter all over the top of the rolls. Now, add sesame seeds!
Step 5: bake
Okay, now you can bake. I like to cover my rolls with foil, then uncover them at the end to get them toasty!
They will come out of the oven with melty cheese and smell so delicious!!
These sliders are just like a grilled burger but with a little more sauce and flavor. And with delicious garlic butter in every bite.
I’m excited for you all to make these this summer! They’re so much fun and great for feeding guests all summer long! Be sure to make a double batch when serving a crowd – there never seems to be enough!

Instructions
- 1. To make the sauce: combine all ingredients in a bowl.2. Preheat the oven to 400° F.3. In a skillet set over medium heat, cook the meat until browned all over, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Place the bottom half of the dinner rolls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Layer with cheddar cheese, then spoon the meat over the cheese. Drizzle 1/3 cup special sauce over the meat. Add the shredded cheddar/pepperjack. Arrange pickles and/or pepperoncini over the cheese. 3. In a bowl, mix together the butter, garlic, herbs, and parmesan. Spread the butter over top of the rolls, reserving extra for serving. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cover the rolls with tin foil and bake for 10-15 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking another 10-15 minutes until the cheese has melted. 4. Brush with any remaining garlic butter and serve immediately with additional special sauce – of course!

These were amazing!! I was looking for something to make with ground beef and I had most of these ingredients. I used beef, the Hawaiian rolls, I used shredded Gouda, Swiss and gruyere cheeses because that is what I had. I used pickles and banana peppers, and I didn’t have the chili paste. However, it was still absolutely delicious and my husband was raving over it! This was so easy and so good! Will definitely buy the chili sauce to use next time.
My family loved these!! They asked for them again 2 days later. So glad because they’re super-easy too!
Hi Richelle,
Wonderful! I’m so glad this recipe turned out nicely for you, thanks for making it! Merry Christmas!!🎄🎁☃️
These look so good and I can’t wait to make them! My fault doesn’t handle spice very well, however. Is there something I could replace the sweet Thai chili sauce with?
Hi Celia,
These are not at all spicy, you should be fine keep the recipe as written:) Please let me know if I can help in any other way! xx
Made these for a girls night and everyone lived them. Easy to make an hour or two ahead and pop in oven. I used banana peppers instead of pickles and they made a great contrast. Burger meat has just the right amount of kick. Used mini brioche buns. Def make again for casual party. Perfect finger food.
Hi there,
Awesome! Thanks so much for giving this recipe a try, so glad to hear it was a hit!🎄🎁☃️ xxT
Sorry! Was meant to be 5*****!
Tieghan, in step three, do you drain the burner meat before adding other ingredients?
Hey Shelley,
If you have a lot of grease, you can go ahead and drain it:) Please let me know if you have any other questions! xx
These were so tasty !! My only problem was the meat was falling out everywhere. How could i make it more compact so it doesnt or is it supposed to be more like a sloppy joe?
Hi Olivia,
Thank you so much! I’m so glad this recipe turned out nicely for you, thanks for your comment! Lol they are a bit messy, next time you could use less meat:) xT
I have made these 3 times both with beef and turkey and are both equally as good. The beef is a little more rich.
What a super recipe and very simple.
Love them!!!
These look so delicious and perfect for the upcoming football season! How would you suggest storing/reheating the burgers if they are not all eaten in one sitting?
Hi Tessa,
I would store in an airtight container in the fridge and then reheat on low in the oven. I hope you love this recipe! xT
